When we come #TogetherforNature, great things happen! Residents of Loitokitok, Kajiado County, have demonstrated this with their ongoing efforts to bring back the green in the border town.

With a target of 120,000 trees during the rainy season, farmers’ groups planted 35,000 tree seedlings and 2,100 fruit trees distributed through our Forest Landscape Restoration Project.

But that is not all! More groups have pledged to nurture an additional 47,000 assorted tree seedlings to maturity to #GreenLoitokitok and #KeepKenyaBreathing:

🌱 Faith-based organizations — 15,000

🌱 Loitokitok schools — 20,000

🌱 Landowners, market committees, and shop owners — 12,000

This inclusive and participatory initiative, funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) through the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV), is a testament to the power of collective action in addressing environmental challenges.
