Lamu County Emergency Operation Centre wins global award for disaster prevention
Prevention saves lives and pays off, declared a panel of three as they announced Lamu County Emergency Operation Centre winner 🏆of the 2024 Averted Disaster Award at a ceremony held in Japan.
The centre received the award for exceptional disaster risk management interventions which have averted at least 5 major disasters since its establishment in 2023, particularly in response to severe drought, cholera outbreak and severe flooding between October and December 2023.
